Knowledge was like candy: you never turned it down, especially if you didn't have to work too hard to get it.

The Archangel could be found in a candy store by the name of Sweets from Heaven. He thought the name was ironic yet fitting. The selection and variety of candy was enormous. There were so many flavors and styles of candy to choose from. He paced around with a gentle smile on his face. The store was rather empty due to the fact it was early in the morning. He knew it would be easier to shop while the kids were still in school. He started to become a regular at the Sweets from Heaven. It was quiet in the morning and the never ending selection of candy brought him back for more. Though he was easily over dressed to be shopping at a candy shop. His stylish ebony three piece black suit shined lightly underneath the fluorescent lights. His dress shirt was a majestic purple that matched his silky tie. Hell, He could pass for a candy inspector. Ramiel found himself craving something sweet and sour. His electric blue eyes locked on to a tub of sour gummy worms. He licked his lips preparing to taste the delicious candy. He walked across the store picking up sturdy see-through candy bag. He opened the back with his leg hand using his right hand to pick up the scooper. He took three big scoops of the sour gummy worms pouring them into the bag. He placed the bag of gummy worms on a scale noticing it registering the three pound bag. The store cleric rung up the three pounds of sour gummy worm. The total came out to be right underneath fifteen dollars. The Archangel pulled out his wallet sliding a twenty dollar bill on the table. The way he came across money was taking it off his fallen enemies. He ran into demons majority of the time. He would never steal or take money from the dead. However, He felt justified when stealing from the enemies he decided not to show mercy. Ramiel threw one of the worms up in the air catching it with his mouth. His right hand slid into his pants pulling out his heavenly pocket watch. He concentrated on the watch letting the ticking sound echo over and over. It was about time for him to lead another important soul unto the gates of Heaven.

Ariel loved to shop. That was something she had learned in her short time on earth. The fact that she worked as a model certainly contributed to that. When Ariel had first arrived she had tried to absorb what she could as quickly as possible so she could fit in. She read lots of magazines.
The women and the clothes she saw in the pages were so interesting and beautiful that she wanted to be part of that. Not all angels actually live among the humans on earth when they are giving an assignment there. But, this was Ariel's first time among them and she wanted to experience the world.
With her arm full of clothing draped over it, she picked out another shirt off the rack and was trying to decide if she wanted to add it to the rest of the items she wanted to try on. Just then she was alerted by the light chiming sound. It was a sound that only she could hear. The chime was to let her know that a message was coming through. She paused for a moment, closed her eyes and bowed her head.
Nodding in acknowledgement, even though no one else could hear the sounds that were only for her to hear. Ariel hung the garmet back on the rack and turned to head toward the dressing room. She smiled at the attendant.
"I'd like to try these on please," she indicated the clothing she was carrying.
The girl gave her a number that indicated what room she should go into and Ariel smiled again in thanks. Without giving any indication that anything was different Ariel walked into the hallway where there were several numbered doors running down both sides. She found the one that matched the numbered tag. Entering the room she closed the door but did not lock it behind her. Carefully she hung up the clothes on the hook provided.
Closing her eyes again she thought of her charge and reached out with her mind. It only took her a moment to see the location in her mind and then she let herself go. Disappearing from the dressing room and re-materializing in the bedroom or Marianne Robinson. The house was quiet, Ariel could tell that everyone was going about normal activities at the moment. Walking to the side of the bed, Ariel smiled down at the elderly woman. It seemed odd to some people at first, they didn't expect an angel to show up in stylish jeans, boots and a casual blouse. Marianne wasn't surprised though, Ariel had visited her before. They had known this day was coming.
Ariel reached out and put a comforting hand on the other woman's arm. Still smiling Ariel spoke softly so only Marianne could hear her.
"It is all right. You have completed what you were meant to on this earth. Rest easy now."
The woman in the bed could not speak but she could communicate with Ariel. Ariel knew she was ready to go now. With her hand still resting on Marianne's arm, it took a few moments and the woman's eyes closed. Ariel continued to watch, only another minute and her charge took her last breath. Ariel closed her eyes and bowed her head, kneeling at the side of the bed.

May God have mercy upon my enemies, because I won't.

The sweet and sour flavor of the gummy worms exploded in his mouth. He chewed a couple of worms from the medium size candy bag. He pulled out his heavenly pocket watch concentrating on the constant ticking sound that came from the watch. He stepped outside of the candy shop disappearing from sight. The Archangel materialized in the Robinson resident walking through the door frame of the bedroom. The elderly woman by the name of Marianne Robinson laid peacefully on her bed. The figure that caught his attention the most was the beautiful blonde angel kneeling at the end of the bed. He couldn't figure out what Angel was in his presence. He kept his presence unknown at the moment letting the Angel grief over one of her charges. However, His mind was easily occupied with the soft smell of sulfur and rotten eggs. The presence of demons became his biggest concern at the moment. The demons loved to steal or take a powerful soul down to heaven. A soul was already powerful enough, but the soul of a servant from heaven contained an immense amount of power. He was accustomed to battling with demons almost on a daily basic. They normally sent about two to three demons to capture a soul. Though this time he could sense about six demons moving throughout the house. Ramiel slide his back against the wall using the beautiful blonde Angel as bait. The first two demons broke the doorway entering the room. The Archangel revealed himself placing both of his palms against their face. Loud demonic screams came from their bodies. Their eyes and mouth illuminated a bright purplish flame with sparks of electricity behind them. Before the two dead bodies of the demon hit the ground, Ramiel felt himself up lifted by two demons. They charged and tackled him through the second story window. The sound of glass shattering was easily noticeable. The three bodies tumbled down the rooftop ripping off the gutters in the process. Their bodies landed roughly on the thick green grass. The battle between the Archangel and demons continued. He extended his left hand grabbing the demon's face killing him with his glorious purple flames. The last demon threw potted plant at Ramiel causing the clay pot to shatter off the back of his head. The force of the blow sent him crashing through the double sliding glass doors. Cuts and scraps appeared all over his vessel. His elegant tailored suit was now ruined with his vessel's blood. The last demon tried to use the opportunity to escape abandoning their mission to capture Marianne Robinson's soul. Ramiel quickly jumped to his feet appearing directly behind the demon. He extended his right hand grabbing the face of the demon slamming it down backwards with force. The demon laid underneath his palm with its eyes burn completely out. "God does not require me to show mercy to Demons!" He spoke softly to the corpse with smoke coming out of its eye sockets. He raised back up to his feet looking into the window of the house wondering how the blonde Angel handled herself.

Ariel was still new at her job, she lingered a little longer than she should have. When she sensed the presence of another angel she knew she needed to leave. She shouldn't be here when the angel came to take the woman's soul. But, then there were others. Not angels but demons. Several of them it seemed and it was too late.
Before Ariel could stand up the other angel had already killed two of the demons and was battling two more. There were two more of the vile creatures coming through the broken door. As she stood and turned toward the oncoming demons her sword materialized at her will.
The other angel and two demons went crashing through the window and she was left alone with the final two. She wasn't afraid. This was part of her job, protecting her charges. Though, she had to admit, she figured the protecting would be occurring more while they were alive than after their death. It seemed this would be a learning experience for her and something she would be smart to remember.
Facing the demons she thrust her sword at the first one that bore down on her. Her heavenly weapon causing a bright light to burst inside the demon and he disintegrated. His essence being sent back to the darkest depths of hell.
Ariel didn't dwell on her success with the first demon. She had a second one to worry about. As she pulled her sword back she leaped into the air and landed gracefully behind the advancing creature. She was too quick for him and before he could turn around she had both hands wrapped around the grip and plunged it deep between the shoulder blades of the demon. The blade slid into the body all the to the hilt. Then the bright lights flashed again and the demon was gone.
With her sword still held in both hands she spun in a circle, taking in the room, making sure there were no more threats. She didn't know what had happened to the other angel, she had heard more crashing as she was fighting. Taking a deep breath she went back to Marianne's bedside to be sure her soul had not been sullied by the demons.
Once she was sure that her charge's eternal life was safe she closed her eyes for a moment. She could only sense the other angel in the immediate area. No more demons. Opening her eyes she looked out the bedroom door and wondered what had happened and if she should leave.

It's faith in something and enthusiasm for something that makes a life worth living.

Ramiel teleported on the roof looking through the broken window watching the blonde angel spinning around with her sword. It wasn't until the moment she stopped that he recognized the angel. Her name was Ariel, but that was the only thing he knew about her. It was a common trait for angels to recognize each other by their aura or grace. He watched Ariel scamper over to Marianne's bedside to check on her soul. The Archangel climbed through the broken window stepping on already shatter glass breaking them into more pieces. His suit was ruined with multiple tears from the broken glass down stairs. There were even cuts and scratches all over his face and neck. He lifted his right hand rubbing the back of his head causing pieces of glass to fall from his head. He closed his eyes for a moment concentrating on the injuries sustained in the fight. Within seconds the cuts and scratches were healed all over his body. He flashed a big gentle smile at Ariel before speaking. "Why hello there Ariel, I am happy to see that your loyal faith earned you a spot amongst the humans." He greeted her with his smooth soft voice. He was known for his happy calm attitude among some of the angels. Ramiel looked at Marianne's body laying peaceful in her bed before gracefully walking over to the bed. A loud angelic whistle escaped his lips that could be heard from the heavens. It even caused the mirrors in the bedroom to spiderweb and crack. A ringing sound echoed in the room hinted that more angels were coming down into the room. Three large angels appeared wearing white and purple elegant robes. "Get rid of these demonic bodies, There are four here and two down stairs!" Ramiel spoke in a more commanding tone as the angels quickly carried out his orders taking away the bodies of the demons. He glanced over at Ariel raising his right hand lifting up one finger signaling her to give him one more minute. He had a feeling he would knew to explain some things to her. The world was plagued with more supernatural creatures than ever. Hell, If it wasn't for her being there he could have lost a soul. Though he didn't want use his powers to wipe out the demons along with majority of the house. He was caring and cautious of collateral damage unlike some of his kind. The last member of the party showed up wearing a black suit with a black tie. It was a mature aged Reaper appearing to pull the soul out of the body to help the soul cross over to the other side. Marianne's soul shined with a majestic grace standing next to the Reaper. Ramiel stood directly in front of the soul glancing to her eyes with his electric blue eyes. A bright spark of light illuminated from his eyes for three seconds. It helped the soul review their life to make the cross over into heaven peacefully. "Welcome to the Kingdom of Heaven, Marianne Robinson. You have served the Lord Honorably." He informed her with a big heart warming smile before the Reaper took her soul away for the complete cross over. A soft sigh of content escaped his body turning to look over at Ariel with a smile on his face. "I am pretty sure you know who I am Ariel, but what you might not know is how dangerous the world has become down here. Normally, I would have to fight about two or three demons for her soul. For them to have the numbers to double makes me worry...The reason they were so interested in her soul is that essence was pure making it that much powerful...Anyway you handle yourself well Ariel, Things could have gone worse if you wouldn't have stayed by your charge." He slipped his hands into his pockets while going off on a little tangent. He had grown accustomed to fighting demons over the millenias. Though there high count in numbers did make him wonder what else is going on in the world. He glanced at Ariel with a smile asking the same question he ask majority of angels walking among the humans. It always came out of his lips with enthusiasm to hear the response. "So Ariel, Do you like it down here with the humans? Find anything you love to do or any type of job?"
