With the war in Heaven going on, and Lucifer freed, the Winchesters barely have time to take a break. In fact they are busier then ever. Even though Sam had trapped Lucifer in the PIT, he managed to escape. Michael, who blames himself for it, has been trying to find his brother and stop him. Crowley meanwhile is trying to take over Hell, but with Lucifer freed once more that is nearly impossible.
Meanwhile, Castiel is still fighting his war in Heaven. While the angels STILL won't listen to him, Castiel is trying to get them to understand 'free will'. None of them seem to want their freedom except for a remaining few. Castiel is trying to find a Archangel that is willing to take charge and lead 'team free will' for him. He is also desperate to find his answers.
