PERSONAL STYLE: Annie is of petite build. She stands at a maximum of 5'5 and weighs around about 121lbs. Unlike most people these days, Annie isn’t too bothered about dieting and being stick thin (though being dead means she doesn't have to eat). She likes food too much and you most certainly won’t find her counting calories. Even so, that’s not to say that she is a complete couch potato. Annie does still take care of herself. She may not diet but she likes to take up some fitness-based hobbies like yoga or kick boxing and most is due to habit. Just because she's dead doesn't mean every aspect of her life should be different.
She has a fairly tanned complexion, and highlighted blonde hair (naturally brown). Annie’s hair is long and comes to the centre of her back. Her hair is naturally wavy which she rarely bothers to straighten. She isn’t the type of girl who will spend hours at a time primping and preening herself. Annie often wears her hair down, but on some occasions she’ll wear it in a simple ponytail secured with a clip or an elastic band of some kind.
Annie has to wear glasses. When she does they are usually a pair of black, thick-framed spectacles. Recently she has started to wear contacts.
Personality
GENERAL PERSONALITY: She can be dedicated, driven, spontaneous, or cautious - whatever the situation calls and allows for. She is terribly big hearted and capable of great fellowship and devotion. Annie can be very shy and unassuming. She is loyal and can keep a secret. In fact, she prefers to keep secrets, because Annie believes it makes a person interesting, the mystery and all.
One of the worst things in the world to her is being engaged into some kind of argument. She sucks at arguing and despises the thought of having to shout her way out of a situation. She will throw up her hands in defeat --even when she's right -- to avoid conflicts. Annie is up for a healthy debate, but she doesn't see the point in screaming abuse at someone to get her point across.
Annie is honest and trustworthy and often finds herself in the awkward position of knowing everything about everyone. For some reason, people trust her with their secrets.
Annie is a great listener. She's great at giving out solid advice - even when she isn't asked for it. Annie's biggest problem is saying "no" to anyone needy. It's not that she is 'spineless' it's just that she likes to help out. Saying no, makes her look as if she isn't interested, even when she's not interested she won't make it clear. She always seems to go along with whatever.
Surprisingly, Annie is pretty confident. She tends to have a way with words, that often enables her to get the best out of people. Annie likes to joke around, she doesn't take herself to seriously. When out with friends Annie's usually the one who will hapily do something stupid, make herself look dumb but do it for the amusement of others. She's an all around nice girl with a positive attitude and a wicked sense of humour.
LIKES:
- Crime Dramas; Annie doesn't have a whole lot to do with her time so she spends most of it watching TV. Of course, being a ghost, it can be hard to watch certain shows she likes since she has to share the TV with tenants staying in her old apartment.
- Playing Piano; The blonde finds that playing piano helps her relax. She's particularly good at playing as she was taught from a very young age.
- Cleaning; Annie is a neat freak.
DISLIKES:
- Food; because she can't eat it!
- Mess and Clutter; One of her biggest peeves is disorganization. It's a terrible habit for Annie but she believes that there’s a place for everything.
- Spiders; It’s a common dislike. She just doesn't like the look of them and the idea of having one anywhere near her freaks her out.
STRENGTHS:
- Friendly; Even though she can't be seen by most, Annie is a very friendly young woman. Despite being dead, she appears to be full of smiles and sunshine. Annie is very caring toward those around her.
- Calm; Annie is a very light natured woman. She appears to handle all situations calmly and rationally, able to always maintain a certain poise about her.
- Loyal; If you are lucky to befriend Annie..you'll have a friend for life.
- Invincibility; She can't be physically harmed..because she's already dead.
WEAKNESSES:
- Insecure; Annie worries about what others think of her. Even though she can only be seen by other supernatural beings.
- Meticulous; She is extremely concerned with detail. Everything has to be done a specific way and to her liking.
- Spineless; Annie doesn't seem to know her own mind. She is a people pleaser. For example, Annie will claim to dislike something but if the person she's talking with likes that specific thing..she'll change her mind, to fit in.
- Organization; She has a place for everything and if everything isn't in its place or has been moved from where she first left it, she goes a little crazy.
Powers, Abilities, Skills
As a ghost Annie has an array of unique abilities, though not all are easy to use nor does she use them all of the time. Primarily as a ghost, Annie is invisible to those who are of the living. However, Annie can be heard by all and seen by children, animals, those who have been exposed to magic and those whom have experienced or are on the brink of death.
All of Annie's abilities appear to fluctuate with her mood. For instance, when it comes to being invisible Annie can sometimes make herself completely invisible to everyone around her. When Annie is afraid, upset or self concious, she tends to hide away from all around her and reappears once she's feeling more settled and better in herself.
POWERS/ABILITIES:
- Teleportation; Annie is able to Teleport at will. Though, the locations that she can go have to be either of a place she has visited before or a place that is currently being occupied by a subject in which she is searching for. For example, if Annie is looking for a specific person, she can only go to the place the person is currently situated in. Annie cannot go to places that she is not familiar with nor follow people that she has not met.
- Telekinesis; Despite being a ghost Annie can actually pick objects and items up. However, for the most part Annie is able to move things with her mind alone and often more then one item at a time.
- Intangibility; Annie does have the ability to pass through other objects and people. With this ability Annie is able to move from room to rooms by walking through solid walls, avoiding 'contact' with other objects or beings. Since Annie does have a small tangible state, she is able to handle solid objects.
SKILLS:
- Piano; Annie was taught how to play the piano in her younger years and is pretty damn good at it.
- Cooking; Annie is a brilliant chef. She loves to cook and bake and finds being in the kitchen somewhat therapeutic.
- Ventriloquism; Annie is pretty good at 'throwing' her voice which comes from years of babysitting and entertaining younger family members.
LIMITS AND FLAWS:
- Teleportation; Annie cannot go to places that she is not familiar with nor follow people that she has not met.
- Telekinesis; Though Annie can move objects with her mind, her ability cannot lift anything that exceeds over a certain weight limit. For example, Annie cannot lift something that she couldn't physically lift with her own body weight.
- Intangibility; Though Annie can move through solid objects, it does muster up a lot of energy. However, when frightened, this appears to come more easily. Unfortunately, passing through objects does cause a fair amount of discomfort for Annie and so it appears that she tends to refrain from using this ability as best as she can.
- Obsessive Compulsive Disorder; Annie is to sum it up, a neat freak. She likes to have things tidy and organized as she feels that by doing so she has more self control over things in her life.
- Agoraphobic; Annie is afraid of the great outdoors. Being an earth bound spirit, Annie opted to lock herself in her old apartment and because of that is reluctant to roam.
History
Annaliese Harper was born in Manhattan, New York on July 14th, 1987 to parents; Gillian and Richard Harper.
Her upbringing was a fairly comfortable one. Both of her parents worked, Richard was an architect and Gillian was a composer. Of course with both parents constantly working, most of Annie's childhood she spent with her grandparents Maude and Henry.
When Annie was 12 years old, her mother fell pregnant with twins. Her father Richard already had a son from his previous marriage; Liam who was only four years older then Annie. Annie loved the idea of having two new younger siblings to take care of as she had always been fairly caring toward those around her. Annie was a gentle soul, the kind who wouldn't wish to bring harm or discomfort to anyone else.
After the twins were born, she did get to spend a lot of time with her mother whom eventually opted to change vocation. Her mother loved to cook and so, she invested all of her time into a bakery. Annie would go to school and come by every single day after to help out. Even when Annie hit her teens she would come to the bakery and help serve customers.
Annie had a lot of trouble in her teens. She was very shy and quiet, private and so she was an easy target for bullying. Despite this, she often held a very optimistic, pleasurable presence about herself regardless of often feeling terrible inside. Of course, like most teens the bullying became so severe that it played havoc on the way Annie perceived herself and she soon became very unwell both physically and mentally.
With a strong support system around her, Annie was able to pull through her darker times and came out on the other side. She had lived most of her life being the 'ugly duckling' and once hitting her late teens blossomed quite rapidly. Suffice to say, though she did look and feel better in herself, Annie never did change from that kind and warm natured female she had always been.
Annie had many dreams she wished to fulfil, but her biggest passion was one that she shared with her mother and her grandmother. Annie loved to cook. She studied hard, went to culinary school and even travelled around Europe and parts of Asia to gain experience in other cultures and cuisines. Once returning to the states, the young woman partnered up with a friend and opened up a small coffee shop.
At 22 years old, taking time from her studies to focus on a business. Annie met a handsome young man. The two connected almost instantly and before she knew it, she was involved in a whirlwind romance. Everything was so spontaneous, they moved very quickly and it was exciting. They'd dated for 6 months before deciding to move in together and almost a year after meeting, got engaged.
Sadly, despite their rapid romance being spontaneous...thing's didn't remain so pleasant. They worked a lot and even with sharing a house, they barely saw one another. David worked late nights, weekdays and she worked most week days 9 to 5. The two barely saw one another. Heck, sometimes she'd be leaving for work and he'd just be getting in. It was tough, on both of them. Annie tried to stay focused, doing her best to keep on top of the relationship but slowly her efforts appeared to fall on deaf ears. David just didn't seem interested any more. Clearly, he'd begun having doubts.
One Friday afternoon in June 2011, tragedy struck. Annie had become ill at work and decided to go home early. Upon arriving at home, she found an unknown car parked up in her drive way. The curious blonde headed inside the apartment she shared with her fiancée only to find him with another woman. Annie was furious, but, being who she was refrained from arguing and simply turned and walked out.
David followed in an attempt to explain himself, though she had seen enough to know what was going on. Annie didn't have to think about it twice, she was going to leave him right their and then...however, little did she know that those moments where she chose to walk out of his life..that she would also be walking out of her own. The woman was blinded by her own emotions that she didn't see the car headed right for her and when she finally did...it was too late.
Annie suffered serious head trauma and after a week in intensive care, sadly didn't pull through. Annie died on Thursday 23rd June, 2011. Three weeks before Annie's 24th birthday.
She had always worried about the afterlife, not really dwelling much on it whilst she was living but did think on the occasion about what would come once it was all over. Of course, Annie never once considered that when it was all over she'd start back in the same place she'd ended...at her apartment, with David. It was strange, kind of like a dream at first. She was able to see so much sadness around her, but do nothing about it. She was dead, but still here and by being so could not run away from the pain that others felt toward their loss.
Annie felt useless, she couldn't do or say anything and could only simply watch as the people she cared for hurt greatly. After the funeral and the wake, things changed quite quickly. David couldn't live in the apartment any more, he felt uncomfortable...had it not been for the fact Annie died just outside of it she would have believed that it was because he could feel her anger toward him. David soon sold the apartment to a nice couple with a baby.
David could leave, he happily did leaving their home and Annie in his past but she was stuck here. Afraid, if anything. Annie hadn't moved on, she wasn't sure how to or even if she wanted to..so she stayed in the house, her home..with her new and incredibly disorganised tenants.

Hazel eyes cascaded over a piping hot mug of coffee. The brunette female gazed as her young niece sat at the mini pink princess table, seemingly having a tea party with her bears. She watched for a few moments before glancing toward the smaller child who was laying in the bassinet below the window. The weather was nice out, warmer then it had been over the passed few weeks.
Naomi continued to watch as the little girl danced around. Rick came in, and the brunette gestured toward her niece as she began to chatter amongst her 'friends' "..She's been doing that for the past 45 minutes" Naomi uttered. Rick grinned, shrugging slightly "She's playing tea party. I'm sure you used to do that when your were her age." He grinned at her. It was a true statement but, Naomi was worried. Lucy didn't really talk to many people and she was always playing by herself or talking to herself. Naomi was a new mother, so she was understandably unsure of these things and the regular behavioural patterns that children displayed.
"Have you seen my keys?" Rick asked, as he fished through the drawer beside the fridge. Naomi shook her head. Things were always going missing around here.
"She's always playing tea party, or make believe. I don't know, is that right? shouldn't she be out playing with other kids, climbing trees...pulling the legs off of bugs?.." She sounded worried. Rick comfortingly rubbed her arm, before turning to the little girl as she continued to bop about "You worry too much." He stated gently, letting his hand drop from her arm. Rick began to approach Lucy.
[color0050FF]"Hey, Luce...can I join?"
Naomi turned as white as a sheet, covering her mouth with her cup as she turned away. She was easy to scare and right now, Lucy was doing a fine job of freaking her out.
Rick stifled a laugh and turned back to Lucy "I see.." He said quietly, before slowly scaling his eyes downward onto the chair "I'm sorry that I almost sat on you, Annie. Please forgive me" Rick played along. He saw nothing, but Lucy insisted that someone was sitting next to her. He passed the seat and quietly took the other on the opposite side of Lucy. "She forgives you. Annie also says that your keys are hanging up on the rack, where they should always be.." For a moment he glanced at the previous seat, Annie's seat. He had to wonder, he'd be stupid not to especially with some of the things that had happened in here alongside the things that 'Annie' had said. His keys, he was always losing his keys.
Though, kids and their imaginations.
Only, it wasn't her imagination. Rick may not have been able to see Annie, but she was their. The blonde 24 year old, entertaining Lucy at the princess table. Annie had always been good with kids, she'd grown up around them and so it came naturally. It wasn't Lucy's imagination, Annie was real or about as real as ghosts came anyway.
