Grey-ish Blue Fair Average 5’9’’ 176lbs |
PERSONAL STYLE: Jack is no stranger to blending in with the crowd despite his own problems in terms of sociability. This is made easy due to his 5’9’’ height and fairly average weight of 176 lbs which tends to buffer between 170 and 180. Due to the fact that he doesn’t get out much he has been cursed with a fairly pale complexion, possibly the thing which makes him stand out most in a crowd but besides that he is a fairly averagely built guy.
His hair is chestnut brown and tends to curl in order to form sort of like a mix between a perm and an afro whilst never fully making it to either; it just tends to curl up instead of curling out. His deep hazel eyes are nothing extraordinarily special, blending in nicely with everything else about him. Despite what people might think of his lifestyle Jack has stayed nice and healthy, his cheekbones being quite nice. Often Jack needs to wear glasses when he needs to read but otherwise he can see just fine.
As said above, Jack can be sort of a wimp with cold weather and will tend to wear 2-4 layers just to keep himself warm. For him, fashion isn’t everything and he finds it better being comfortable in his own skin explaining why a lot of his clothes just seem to drop off of him. Usually he will wear a t-shirt with a pop culture reference on it or something as sort of an icebreaker. In order to try and blend in Jack sticks to fairly neutral colours like greens, grey’s and browns because those seem to be the most affective
Personality
GENERAL PERSONALITY: Jack has never been a socially confident person. Even as an kid, Jack found it very difficult to socialise with others. Not much has changed from his days as a kid since Jack is still somewhat of a hermit, never venturing outside unless it is absolutely necessary. The thing is that social situations freak him out more than he lets on and he can’t deal with people the same way that other people can deal with people. Never has he been anything more than just a very shy, very awkward guy sitting behind a computer trying to deal with each day as it comes. It’s not like he wants to be this way but any effort he has put into changing in the past has often come of fairly horribly for him.
Despite his social awkwardness, Jack remains to be a fairly level headed person when it comes to matters such as logic and intelligence. Rarely ever will he not think out a plan before following it out, which does give him the advantage of preparation under his belt but also leaves him open for overthinking things which is one of his major flaws. Overthinking things has come to be that thing that Jack will do more often than breathing and it is because of this that he becomes more socially awkward and estranged from people since he always has to read into whatever people’s gestures mean. When it comes to using logic, Jack will do so with ease, preferring to outwit his opponents rather than try to take them on. Words are the only thing he has in order to try and overcome his obstacles and over the years he has become fairly good at crafting sentences together to get his point across; the trouble comes when he is forced to reveal said plan to a person.
You see as easy as it is for him to calculate a plan in his head and express it into some sort of vocal form, he sort of panics when he is around people. He is far from a public speaker and even when speaking to the one person his throat will clamp up and he will find himself at a loss for words. Though he does find it easier to talk to those he is comfortable around, he still retains some of that nervousness and often gets lost in his own head as a result of this.
Quite complacent is a phrase which is often used to describe Jack; I mean sure he will have his own plan but he is willing to follow anyone else’s leadership just as long as it isn’t his own. Jack prefers to be the sheep in the background carrying out the plan rather than the leader who makes the decisions and the instant Jack is placed in a position of power, he will tend to shrink into himself and give it away to someone who he thinks would be better to lead, even if the exact opposite is true. Give Jack a task to do and he will do it without fail since he does come from a background where failure is never an option.
The thing is that Jack second guesses himself so often that it becomes clear quite quickly that he is not fit to lead anything and that he is just a nervous guy trying to fit into this world he assumes does not really understand him. All he needs to do though is break out of that little shell he’s surrounded himself in.

Powers, Abilities, Skills
ABILITIES
- Precognitive Drawing; As an oracle, Jack is able to receive prophetic dreams or visions which he classes as a form of divination in a sense. During these visions, all he is able to see is a blinding flash of light as well as feeling something close to an out of body experience. Whilst in these visions, his body sets to work drawing precognitive pictures of the future which often show themselves in the form of comic strips. As of now Jack isn’t sure what to really make of his own artwork or his brush with divination. These prophetic visions can be small things like the roll of a dice to much larger things like the end of days, all he knows is that sooner or later his artwork will come to life. In these trance like states, he is lucid and acts as if he is possessed to carry out such artwork, often coming across as distant and ignorant to anything which happens around him.
- Astral Projection; During the times in which he is possessed to carry out his artwork and is in a deep trance, Jack goes into a sort of astral form which in essence is like when his soul becomes temporarily stripped away from his body. This allows Jack to interact with things which may exist within the astral plane which includes but is not limited to some angels and ghosts. Since Jack does not exist within the corporeal realm, he is unable to interact with anything as such.
SKILLS
- Drawing; Say whatever you will about Jack, but he knows exactly how to draw with precision and creativity which has shown over the years. These drawing skills have only been enhanced by his own visions
- Off-Road Driving; Put Jack behind the wheel of a car in the middle of a busy street is a stupid idea; put him behind the wheel in an off-road terrain and then you’re in business
- Quick Reflexes; Years of playing first person shooters have made it an unwise move to ever sneak up on Jack.
- Expansive knowledge in Superpowers; He runs a Comic Book store, it sort of comes with the territory to be honest, not that it ever comes up much anyway.
LIMITS AND FLAWS:
Abilities
- Precognitive Drawing; As said above, Jack is in a trance when he draws and pretty much nothing can stop him when he’s in a trance. His body becomes programmed to finish the drawing instead of self-preservation which means that if he is being beat up he won’t fight back until the drawing is done and even then it might just be a little too late. Also, Jack is unresponsive to anything in this state so talking to him is a completely bogus move to pull. These paintings which he draws are visions of the future and so far all of them have come true; once he has a vision about something, it becomes very different to stop it. The last thing is that without context of the situation Jack is completely clueless about what any of the pieces of art really mean.
- Astral Projection; Because he is wandering a different realm to our own, Jack cannot interact with anything and nothing can interact with him which is a real pain in the ass for him. Sure he can pass through walls but all of that is useless when you can’t touch the things you need to interact with. Jack can never stray too far away from his body, the most he has ever been able to go is 50 feet before he starts to feel like he has encountered some invisible force in front of him which just pushes him backwards. Contrary to popular belief, Jack is not able to possess anyone during his moments of astral projection.
Flaws
- Trust Issues; Jack finds it incredibly difficult to trust some people and because of that may be a little hesitant to help someone who asks him for help.
- Fear of Future; Jack can sometimes get a little overwhelmed and fears drawing the end of days as it were; even something minor is enough to make him crap himself.
- Allergic to Shellfish; Allergies be a bitch…
History
Jack was born in Atlanta on a brisk autumn day to two loving parents who both came from respectable career prospects. Of course this meant that Jack was more well off than the average kid but even growing up he knew he would be the black sheep of the family, never being able to really live up to his own family name and the legacy that it tended to come with. Despite being nurtured as much as his other siblings, Jack still strayed off the path of excellence and put the inherent genius of his own family name into turmoil by simply being different from everyone else in his family.
Whilst his siblings and other children would go out to play, Jack stayed indoors thinking it was better for him if he watched from afar. This shy nature developed from an early age and didn’t really help to push him when he came into his older years. From this young age onwards, Jack took a liking to comic books and computers, wanting to know more about them since they seemed to be something alien to most people. The more time he spent indoors the more his parents began to worry about him not being like the other children, after all they only wanted what was best for their son and right now that was to stay on the path of excellence.
After much deliberation Jack was sent to specialist after specialist in hopes that they could cure him of what was simply a rather shy and timid nature that could not really be helped at all. Suffice to say all tests came back inconclusive and so Jack’s parents realised they would just have to put up with this period in his life until he grew out of it. The thing was, he never did grow out of it.
As years advanced, so did technology. Video Gaming came into Jack’s life during his early teens and even then it seemed like an escape for him, a gateway to try and communicate via pressing buttons. Still, his parents seemed to humour it for the time being in hopes that he would become more social but of course that was not to happen. The more he played the more engrossed he became in video games, wanting to complete everything so that for once in his life he could be something besides a complete and utter failure to his parents.
When it came time to pick a career path to follow, Jack decided to go his own way and move out of house. This did not sit well with his parents who wanted to know that their child was doing something productive instead of wasting his life in front of a screen. He did manage to get a job though, somewhere that could take him and where his social quirks were the norm… a local comic book store.
That was at Twenty, the year his life changed for the better in fact. Jack became engrossed with the Comic Book culture, so much so that the ideas just started to flow in his own head about comic book ideas that he himself wanted to do. That was when he took to pen and paper and realised just what a gift he had with drawing. Sure he didn’t read much into it at first but as time progressed he began to realise that perhaps this was a good career path for him, to become a comic book artist of sorts.
Since then he has tried his best to hone his skills. It was all going so well too up until the age of 25 when he started to have lapses of concentration, moments where he would not remember much about what he did. These blank spaces in his mind simply continued to grow with increasing velocity. At first he thought it was just him, but it was only when he painted a picture of his television with 6 digits along the screen that he realised something was up. It turns out that the following week those numbers had come up in a lottery. He couldn’t even begin to comprehend what the hell was happening
A lot has changed following those events, like the fact Jack now runs his own Comic Book Store in his home town. Now with the changing society, Jack has become a sort of Technical Advisor to his local branch of Forsaken PI in a bid to do his own part

It had been a choice he would come to never regret in his life, a decision he had made all those weeks ago that would hopefully bring him and Roxanne closer together as opposed to splitting them up. At first when the question of him moving in had been posed jack was clueless as to what to think about it all; he had been a loner for the majority of his life and now here he was being asked to move in with someone he really cared about. Sure at the start there had been a slight hesitance from him, mostly because of the enormity of the decision, but in the end it was clear that this was something he needed to do in order to vanquish the thoughts in his head which had tormented him. By moving in with Roxanne he was doing something unknown to him, he was starting to let himself become emotionally available which was not an easy task for him.
The briskness of what was New York was anything but alien for him now. Ever since having moved here at a young age he had adjusted rather well to the weather and the lifestyle that was New York, not afraid to use his shoulders to try and push himself through a crowd as well as ignore anything that he seen along the way. The Californian raised kid had done so much to try and fit in when it came to New York. His closet seemed to be stockpiled with an abundance of warm clothing, mainly due to the fact that he was never really the best at retaining his own body heat and tended to need to keep warmer than most. Call him a wimp all you want but Jack knew that it worked for him and in the end that’s all that really mattered.
As much as he was trying not to mull on the thoughts of the past his mind simply kept coming back to the matters of what had happened a few weeks ago; not the talk that had happened but rather the fact that somehow an RSF agent unexplainably gained powers. It had been the center point for most of his thought processes these past few weeks, trying to think of reasons why and how it could have happened. Colin was an asshole and he knew that much but he still couldn’t wrap his mind around the thought of what went down.
Maybe he was simply being plagued by the fact that he could have died? Or maybe it had something to do with the fact that he had been blindsided by something this big.
His thoughts were simply stirred away from these thoughts when he came back down to reality, realising that his own hand was still clinched into Roxanne’s in a tight grip. Eyes came back into focus once more as a soft smile made its way onto his face. For a few moments he held that smile before trying to retrace his own thoughts as to where they were and what they were doing. Attention had been something that he had been trying harder to control but it seemed his attention span was still to betray him even when he needed it most. It took him a few more moments to recall why they were here in the first place.
With moving in together, they needed to buy new furniture for the apartment which they now shared together. It had been a daunting thought to him, simply because there was no possibility of turning back now unless he wanted to live the rest of his life blacklisted as a coward. Roxanne had been so willing to compromise with everything; even converting one room into another just to make the whole transition all that easier on him. Honestly he wished there was another way of going about it but the truth of the matter was that if he truly wanted to be happy then he could not just force change but let it happen naturally. Back in his old apartment he had used his old spare room as a games room, as well as a spot where he could carry out most of his work.
Still, the idea of having a room close to home was still a hell of a lot better than the idea of having it become a nursery. Hell even thinking about that idea caused Jack’s throat to become dry and made him all kinds of nervous. It was safe to say that he was not good with kids and he felt totally uncomfortable around them in fear that he would do something totally stupid.
Once again a soft smile appeared onto his face as Roxanne began to speak to him, listing off the things that still needed to be done. ”I just wish we knew some sort of Taxi person that could help us do all of this stuff… Oh if only there was another way” he joked. It was clear that he wanted to do this with Roxanne but it didn’t exactly make the task of picking out furniture any easier on either of them. There were a few things that he needed for the room itself… mostly places to keep the games themselves. Back in his old place he had managed to almost fill a wardrobe with his things.
”Oh…I….uh….I dunno… maybe like a stand or something?” he said, hesitance in his voice.
