PERSONAL STYLE: Alodia likes to dress fashionable. Something she has kept up with throughout the ages. She loves designer clothing and any chance she gets to go to some society party and wear a fancy dress or gown she doesn't pass it up.
She can sometimes be quirky and put her own spin on fashion. Especially when it comes to casual dressing. Alodia can wear pretty much anything. She does enjoy being comfortable in jeans and boots as well as dresses. Pretty much anything she wears will be of the best quality even if it is distressed it was designed to be that way.
Personality
GENERAL PERSONALITY:
• prideful - 1. a high or inordinate opinion of one's own dignity, importance, merit, or superiority, whether as cherished in the mind or as displayed in bearing, conduct, etc.
• cynical - 1. contemptuously distrustful of human nature and motives. 2. based on or reflecting a belief that human conduct is motivated primarily by self-interest.
• predictable - 1. capable of being foretold. 2, able to be predicted. In other words, she usually makes the same choices over and over.
• vulnerable - 1. capable of or susceptible to being wounded or hurt. 2. open to moral attack, criticism, temptation, etc.
Alodia is an old one, which by the nature of the title means she has been around for a very long time. She has learned a few things over the centuries, but at the core she still retains the basics of her personality. Having been around such a long time she was able to amass a great fortune. She was used to all of the benefits that come with wealth.
Rather spoiled she is used to getting what she wants and having people to wait on her hand and foot. People to do her bidding. Recently she has lost some of this wealth, but she is much too proud to admit to it hurting her and she continues to behave as if everything is fabulous.
Over the years she has also become quite predicable. She loves money, fashion, clothes, shoes, etc. The best of everything. Anyone that knows her can probably read her like a book.
She has seen many things over her lifetime. The way the world works, the way it has changed so much over the years. This has caused her to become quite cynical. This has been something that has occurred throughout the ages but is especially pertinent in modern times. Everyone is looking out for number one, including Alodia.
Even though Alodia is cynical, she is also a bit naïve. She can be vulnerable, especially if she has come to care about someone or let them into her life. The reality of things are, that no matter how self-centered she is or how much she thinks she can’t trust the world. She needs people in her life and that leaves her open to being hurt and betrayed.
Overall, Alodia is somewhat jaded by her experience in life but she hides it well for the most part. She is smart and outgoing. She knows how to be polite and gracious but can cut you with her acid tongue just as fast if you get on her bad side. Alodia definitely has a temper that can get her into trouble. Disrespect her and the claws… or fangs as the case may be, will come out.

History
Alodia was born in Ancient Greece in 655 BC. This period of time was known as the Archaic period. This was the very beginnings of the advancement of society. It followed directly after the dark ages. Alodia lived a fairly normal life, lucky enough to have been born into an elite family of the time. Her human life was so long ago, she doesn’t remember very much but has always been one to appreciate the finer things. She became a collector of sorts. Books (or parchments in the early times), various forms of art, and jewelry.
In them middle of her twenty-third year she met a mysterious stranger. The man admired her sense of style and the air of an aristocrat with which she carried herself. They spent many hours discussing the development of the world, the new political directions, philosophy, art and literature. Unknown to Alodia it was a process to see if she was worthy of a gift that he wanted to bestow on her.
Eventually, he deemed her appropriate and explained to her what he was. He was one of the first of their kind, the immortal beings, before the term vampire had even been thought of. After some thought Alodia agreed and she was turned. They spent almost 250 years together. Together they watch as Greece grew and flourished through it’s Classical Period. This was one of the greatest times in Ancient Greek history. Raising the region to great political and cultural heights. Architecture, art, philosophy. Democracy was born, the Parthenon, Socrates and Plato were just a few of the masters and master pieces to come from this time period.
Unfortunately their happiness and adventure would not last. In the year of 387 BC during the war between the vampire race and the witches, Alodia’s companion was killed. Along with 98% of her species population. Alodia was one of the lucky ones to survive.
Alodia mourned her lover, companion and then she realized she needed to move on. She was now one of a very few of her race and she had to continue on. From that time on she learned to blend in with society. Keeping up the pretense of a one of the wealthy. She stayed in Greece for some time and then, with the rise of the Roman Empire she moved to Italy to immerse herself into the developing culture there.
That then became her method of survival and how she stayed current with the ever changing times. She was smart. She figured out the trends. As a new dominate nation or culture emerged, she latched onto it. Moving herself as needed to fit in. Along the way she accumulated many things. She had homes in various places. She employed servants and underlings to keep them maintained as she flitted about the world. As she did in her human existence she admired and continued to collect the finer things.
Eventually, she found herself in the New World. Things were fine for the most part. She had to adapt, find a way to make it in the New World Order. It wasn’t easy for her. The only thing she had were her homes and possessions she had gathered over the centuries. In order to survive she began to sell them. With the help of some of her vampire cohorts she was able to create a business for herself. She became the buyer and sell of antiquities. Her company is called Callistus Antiques Inc.

Alodia found herself wandering around the gallery of the antique store that she owned. There was no purpose to her movement, she was just aimlessly moving about. Some would say she was pacing, though she didn’t have a defined path. She was restless, waiting. Alodia didn’t like to wait, for anything. To say she was impatient was a bit of an understatement. She took a deep breath and let out a sigh to calm herself. This was all part of the job or whatever you wanted to call it.
Owning a business was a fairly new venture for her. She was normally used to just spending her money willy nilly, but times had changed. Alodia had been forced into the reality of the world. At least the buying and selling of antiquities was something that interested her. She loved all the pieces, she had hated when she had to start selling her own possessions in order to survive. Most of the items in the gallery were part of her personal collection. That was still troublesome. At least now she had a source for new items but it was still slow going to fill up the store and enable her to put her own things back into their rightful places. Every time she sold an item that she had collected over the centuries was like ripping a little piece of herself out.
Continuing to walk around the store she touched various items as she passed by. The store was full of remarkable things. The business had quickly built the reputation of having some of the finest pieces in the country. If not the world. That’s what the collection of a 2665 year old vampire rated. Each piece was perfectly maintain and exquisite in nature. There was furniture, carpets, all variety of art pieces, paintings, sculptures. There were books and scrolls, jewelry. Anything you could possibly imagine. Alodia had a keen eye and it showed in the display that was laid out in the large showroom. Each piece was placed as she specifically instructed. The interior design and layout were of her own making as well. All of it very elegant and reflective of the owner.
Alodia ran a hand through her wavy shoulder length blonde hair. Pushing some stray stands back away from her face and tucking them behind her ear. She tried to will herself to be patient. It just wasn’t in her nature. Diego would be there soon. He wouldn’t leave her hanging. They had business to discuss about some new items. Their arrangement was beneficial to both of them. Diego had a knack for getting his hands on almost anything. It was part of what was helping make the business flourish. The reputation for being able to provide their clients with just about anything they wanted. If it was out there, Diego could find it and acquire it.
With a bit of a huff she sat down on the Louis XV style French settee. Crossing her legs, the top leg immediately started to swing back and forth. Even sitting down she couldn’t manage to be still. As she sat her mind continued to wander. She hated the circumstances she had found herself in. It was just such an inconvenience. However, it had introduced her to Diego. The man was definitely one interesting vampire. They hadn’t know each other for too long. He was instrumental though in helping her figure out how to do this whole business thing. Not to mention, the items he provided for her were critical for her to make this a successful venture.
On a personal level, she liked him too. He was extremely intelligent, witty, eloquent and most definitely charming. The stories he could tell. Whether they were all actually true or not was another matter. Alodia had been around long enough to know his game plan. That didn’t matter to her though. He was intriguing and that was good enough for her. It wasn’t always easy to find someone who could carry an interesting conversation. Diego was never boring and that was saying something right there. Sitting back on the sofa she tried to relax while her mind drifted and she continued to wait.
