I have screamed until my veins collapsed I've waited as my time's elapsed Now, all I do is live with so much hate

A loud roar echoed on the streets as the muscle car cruised through traffic. The black and yellow 1970 Buick GSX finally came to a complete stop. It was parked parallel out in front of the NY Forsaken PI Branch. Adam felt a little special that he had his own private parking spot outside of the building. It would save him a lot of trips up and down to decorate his office. That was the main reason he showed up to the office right before the sun appeared over the horizon. Adam stepped out of the vehicle stretching out his legs and arms. He had been driving all through the night to make it back to New York City. A City he hadn't visited since the death of his family. The U.S Marshals had him run all over the country, but never did he return to New York. The smell that filled the city was surreal, It was almost like the city never changed. The city was still full of life bringing back great memories he spent with his family. A long deep sigh escaped his lips walking towards the trunk of the car. His black boots moved across the concrete with purpose. Covering the top of his boots and legs were a pair of dark blue jeans. His lean upper body was covered by his favorite chocolate leather hooded jacket. Underneath his jacket was a black t-shirt with the words 'This is the War, I was made for '. He pulled out a military green sea-bag and a black duffel bag from his trunk. He tossed the sea-bag over his shoulder while carrying the duffel bag in his left hand. Adam walked across the lobby floor of the building heading towards the elevator lobby area. He stepped into the elevator pressing the top floor which was the seventh floor. A loud ding echoed across the quiet looking seventh floor. His hazel eyes scanned the floor noticing that he was the only one on the floor or so it appeared. It was refreshing to actually be working at Forsaken PI. He would no longer have to pose as different agencies to get around the red tape. Adam entered his corner office room, They even already had his named engraved into the door. The size of the office was lovely. It was about twice the size of his office he had while working for the U.S Marshals. The fact that his office was on the corner gave him a beautiful view of the city. He leaned the sea-bag against the desk taking out his Ipod radio. It was going to be important to have music playing during the times he had to conduct tedious paper work. He turned on the Ipod letting the sound of Seether ~ Take me Away blast through his office and down the hallway. He placed the black duffel bag on top of his desk unzipping the zipper. He pulled out a couple bottles of liquor planning on making a little bar area in his office. The names of the bottles were the following: Jack Daniels, Wild Turkey, Bacardi 151, Absolut Vodka, Patron Silver, Jose Cuervo 1800 Tequila, Hennessy Cognac, and Johnny Walker Back Label. Next to the bottles he stacked ten shots glasses, five drinking glasses, four whiskey glasses, two scotch glasses, and two brandy glasses. Against the wall the hung up two different target boards. One of the boards was a darts board while the other was one for throwing knives. The knives board was twice the thickness as the dart board. He walked over to his sea-bag pulling out a black wooden box that hide darts and small throwing knives. He placed it on top of his desk in the corner before placing a picture of his late wife Julie next to the box. The next song that came out of the Ipod was Godsmack ~ Whatever . Adam sat down behind the leather cushioned chair throwing his feet up on the table. He pulled out two throwing kunai knives from the black box spinning them around on his right hand. His eyes were closed shut almost like he was in a deep trance listening to the music to drift away from reality.

Which, honestly her office was really more of a combination lab and office so it was rather large. She had her desk, a small table and chairs and some visitors chairs along with the other standard office furnishing on one side of the large room. The other two-thirds of the space was taken up with work benches, tables, equipment and one hellacious, kick ass computer system setup. Currently she was sitting at the computer workstation engrossed in her work. There were several cans of Venom's Death Adder, Fruit Punch energy drink in the trash can with a still half full one, sitting next to the key board. It wasn't that unusual that Chevonne had stayed all night at the office. Sometimes she just go so involved in what she was doing, she didn't think about the time. Fueling herself with energy drinks and snacks from the fridge in the corner of the room. She had her music on at a medium level she had no idea what time it was, but she was pretty sure she was alone in the office. She could tell by the light outside that it was too early for anyone else to be coming in yet. That was until she heard Seether come blasting from somewhere down the hall. Chevonne narrowed her eyes in thought for a moment and took a sip from the can of Venom. Setting it back down she ran a hand through her long dark hair and blinked her eyes a few time to clear them from staring at the computer screen so long. She got up from her chair and took a few moments to to stretch, her muscles stiff from sitting in one place. She opened her door and headed down the hall, following the music to it's source. As she walked the song changed to Whatever, by Godsmack and she found herself approaching their new boss' office. No one in the office had met him yet, she forgot that he was due to arrive today. It seemed he was an early riser. Even though she hadn't met him yet, it didn't mean she didn't know anything about him. Of course they had done a background check on him before they hired him and guess who did the background checks. Chevonne leaned against the frame of the open door and looked into the office. Adam Gomez, was dark haired, dressed in boots, jeans, black t-shirt and a leather jacket. He was kicked back with his feet on the desk, his eyes shut. Knocking on the inside wall to get his attention, she kept her eyes on him as she crossed her arms over her chest. With a slight smirk she spoke to him. "You must be Adam? At least I hope so, or I might have to kill you. I'm Chevonne Delaney, the team engineer and resident technology expert." She stayed standing in the door way while she waited for his reaction. And the rain will kill us all If we throw ourselves against the wall But no one else can see The preservation of the martyr in me

The music was soothing to Adam's persona. It kept his reckless attitude under control. It was just something about the drums and guitars coming together with the proper lyrics. His right hand move back side to side spinning the two kunai knives with his fingers. The blades spun in a circular motion barely missing each other on every rotation. The presence of another lingered at the door frame. Adam slowly opened his hazel eyes looking across the room at a beautiful brunette in the door way. His eyes took pleasure in the beautiful woman in front of him. It was going to be nice to have some eye candy to flirt with. He was a little rusty after being married for about six years. Nonetheless, He knew how to conduct himself in a professional manner. He wasn't about hooking up with anyone in the same department. He saw a few of friends crash and burn while hooking up with other agents in the U.S Marshals. "You must be Adam? At least I hope so, or I might have to kill you. I'm Chevonne Delaney, the team engineer and resident technology expert."
"You know its not polite to go around threatening to kill others!" His hazel eyes shifted for a second concentrating on the bull-eyes of the knife throwing board. With a flick of his wrist, He launched one of the kunai knives directly at the board. A loud thud filled the room for a second. The sharp knife wedged deeply into the board. "You never know what someone might be capable of, Its best to keep those threats to yourself....I am a rather good person, but I do take any threat on my life or those I care about serious." Adam spoke with a more commanding tone placing the knife down on the table. He didn't want her to feel threaten by him, but he wasn't one to take any type of disrespect or threatening remarks. The next song in the shuffle came through the speakers. Nightmare by Avenged Sevenfold filled the room with a eeriness at the beginning. He stood up to his feet making his way towards the bar he set up. "By the way, I am Adam Gomez. I wouldn't be here if I wasn't...Now would you like a drink and you can explain more about what you do her Miss Delaney?" Adam asked her to have a drink like it was casual thing to drink before the sun rose. He pulled out two shots glasses just in case she wanted to take a drink with him. He picked up the bottle of 1800 tequila pouring himself a nice big shot. He looked over his shoulder at her waiting for her reaction and response to him. He didn't waste any time looking over the files of those in his department. He wanted to allow them to make their first impression personally. Paper work never told you how someone truly acted. She still stood in the doorway with her arms folded across her chest. Her eyes remaining steady on him, watching as his voice got harsher. "You know its not polite to go around threatening to kill others!"
"You never know what someone might be capable of, Its best to keep those threats to yourself....I am a rather good person, but I do take any threat on my life or those I care about serious." She didn't flinch when he threw the knife into the target board as he spoke. The only acknowledgement of the action was when she turned to see the knife sticking out of the board. Her eyes slid back to look at him. An indifferent look on her face. The music on his iPod still blaring as the song changed again. "Dude, you need to chill out. You're the one that's new around here. No one excpected you to be here at an ungodly hour." Chevonne watched him as he moved over to where he had what looked to be a very well stocked supply of alcohol lined up. He had set up a make shift bar already. Along with the targets on his wall. Interesting priorities he seemed to have. She wasn't sure if that was at all good. That was just what they needed around here leading their team. A possible alcoholic with a weapons free policy. "By the way, I am Adam Gomez. I wouldn't be here if I wasn't...Now would you like a drink and you can explain more about what you do her Miss Delaney?" Chevonne peered across the room at him and shook her head. "No thanks. It's a little early for me. Or I guess you could say a little late, since I have been here all night working. I'll pass on the drink." Pushing herself up off the door frame she stood up straight. Her hands resting lightly on her hips. Her eyes narrowed in thought for a moment. Wondering what the place was going to be like with this man in charge. She loved her job, but she wasn't one to put up with any shit or disrespect. Even if he was the boss. She hoped she wasn't going to have to ask for a transfer. She really liked New York. "Well, as I said. I'm the team engineer. I'm the technology expert. You need a customized weapon or some kind of gadget, I'm the one you come to. I can hack any computer system if the need arises. I'm also a licensed investigator and actively work in the field too." Her weight shifted slightly on her feet. She really didn't know how to take her new boss. It wasn't exactly the way she wanted to start off their working relationship. "I didn't mean to interrupt your morning drink and target practice, Mr. Gomez. I guess I'll go finish up what I was working on and then head home for a couple hours sleep before I come back. Unless you have anything else you need from me?" She purposely emphasized the Mr. Gomez, just to keep with his formal address of her earlier. Which, completely seemed at odds with his demeanor. She didn't really feel like trying to figure him out at the moment. It had been a long night. [/dropcap] OUTFIT: ClickehLyrics from the Song, Won't Get Fooled Again by The Who [/style]

Your feelings I can't help but rape them. I'm sorry I don't feel the same. My heart inside is constantly hating.
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
NY Forsaken PI Branch New York City, New York
"Dude, you need to chill out. You're the one that's new around here. No one expected you to be here at an ungodly hour."
Adam did feel like he handle the situation untactful. He had been driving all through the night and need to get some sleep. The main reason he came into the office early was to set the thing up properly. He didn't want to spend his first day setting up his office. He wanted to walk around and meet those he will be responsible for keeping safe. "No thanks. It's a little early for me. Or I guess you could say a little late, since I have been here all night working. I'll pass on the drink."
 "Maybe another time at a reasonable hour." He lifted the shot off the table slamming the tequila down his mouth. A big smile appeared on his face after the shot. He knew that shot would come in handy when going to sleep within the next hour. Adam was one to rarely drink during out working hours. However, He did enjoy having a drink over a conversation with anyone. It was a great way to build strong bonds. His hazel eyes gazed upon Chevonne. She was rocking her hands on her hips. It was a clear indication that she wasn't pleased with his attitude. He was wrong for snapping at her and prepared himself to get a verbal lashing. "Well, as I said. I'm the team engineer. I'm the technology expert. You need a customized weapon or some kind of gadget, I'm the one you come to. I can hack any computer system if the need arises. I'm also a licensed investigator and actively work in the field too."
 Adam gave Chevonne a nod with a smirk on his face. She was like the departments own Q, James Bond gadget inventor. He found her quite intriguing even though they weren't getting along at the moment. He was curious to know what kind of things she could create or modify for the department. "I didn't mean to interrupt your morning drink and target practice, Mr. Gomez. I guess I'll go finish up what I was working on and then head home for a couple hours sleep before I come back. Unless you have anything else you need from me?"
"Well, I would like to apologize for my behavior. I didn't except to have any company this night. It is still night to me because I haven't had any sleep yet. I drove all through the night to get here. My plan was to come into the office, set it up and go home to get some sleep. This way when I come back in later, I can get to know everyone in the department." He gave her a warm smile looking her directly in her eyes. His apology was completely sincere meaning every word of it. This was not the way he wanted to go into his first day on the job. Plus making a bad first impression could hurt him in the long run with Chevonne. The key to hunting was with the trust of others. Hunters were always more dangerous in groups. It was just hard finding other hunters that were trustworthy. Though he did meet a lot of hunters when he was younger. It was the reason he got the job offer. Most of the other hunters were now his age. It was their time to lead the battle against the paranormal. Adam fixed his leather jacket before walking across the open space in his office. He walked to within arms reach of Chevonne. He kept direct eye contact with a pleasant smile on his face. He extended his hand to give her the proper greeting she deserved. "Lets start over shall we, you can just call me Adam, Chevonne...And I would love to see your computer set up, I am sure you got some high tech office."
The lack of sleep on both their parts most likely made them edgy. Still, she worked late hours in the office quite a bit and if she hadn't remembered that the new leader of the team was coming in today, she might have came into the office with her weapon drawn. In their business, you couldn't be too careful, especially a young woman alone. She had to take care of herself. Still a little wary she tried to relax and push the awkward start off to the side. No need to go around carrying a grudge for something that was just a misunderstanding. Forsaken P.I. and the New York office had always been a pretty fun place to work. The jobs they did, going after supernatural things was hard enough. They certainly didn't need any difficulties in the work place on top of that. It had always been a pretty laid back place and they had the freedom to do what they needed to do. It was definitely a job where you had to think outside of the box sometimes. Normal rules did not apply. Giving a little nod and a shrug she silently accepted the apology. Managing a small smirk as he continued on and approached her. "Lets start over shall we, you can just call me Adam, Chevonne...And I would love to see your computer set up, I am sure you got some high tech office." She took his offered hand and gave it a firm shake. So, at least he was man enough to apologize and try to make amends. It was the least she could do in accepting and doing the same. With a small smile she tilted her head in the direction of down the hall, a slight nod indicating that her office was that way. "Sure, I'd be happy to show you. Follow me. I'm down at the end of the hall in the other corner on this side." Stepping out into the hall she made her way back to her office. She had left her door partially open when she went to see what was going on so, she pushed it the rest of the way open and stood back. Giving a little wave of her hand she invited him to go ahead and go in ahead of her. "Well, this is it. It's both my office and my lab, so I have a pretty large space." Following him inside she moved to the center of the room and spread her arms out wide to emphasize what she was saying. "One side is my office, then I have my computer system setup along the back wall and then as you can see, several lab tables, counters and benches set up. I usually have various things in the work at any given time. I sort of have a talent for anything electronic or mechanical. So, we always have the best equipment out there. Take a look around if you want. Probably best you don't touch anything, some of them are still in testing phase." Chevonne headed over to her computer station and sat down. Picking up her Venom can and draining the last of it and tossing the can into the bin with the others. The can clattered as is landed amongst several cans already filling the container. "I was just finishing up some reseach and some preliminary plans for a couple things I'm working on. If you have any questions or you need anything to get you set up, let me know and I'll get right on it." [/dropcap] OUTFIT: ClickehLyrics from the Song, Won't Get Fooled Again by The Who [/style]
Adam "Slash" Gomez
I can't escape this hell So many times i've tried But i'm still caged inside Somebody get me through this nightmare I can't control myself
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~

Adam glanced at Chevonne's chest watching it raise up and down as she took in a big deep breath. He was a single man after all. He was relieved that she accepted his apology. It would be horrible to already have friction and tension between squad mates. He was there to establish trust and unity between everyone. They needed to work together as a well oiled machine. He gave her hand gentle firm handshake. It was a handshake that showed her a lot of respect. He didn't view her as a woman who couldn't handle herself. Hell, Majority of the women he meet that were hunters were tougher than most of the guys. The gentle smile stayed on his face releasing her hand. "Sure, I'd be happy to show you. Follow me. I'm down at the end of the hall in the other corner on this side."
"Ohh I bet your office puts my to shame right now!" Adam slide his hands his pockets into his jacket pocket letting Chevonne lead the way to her office. She motioned him follow him down the hallway. Her room sat on the opposite corner of his room. He thought it was an important place to check out. He loved to take in the knowledge of the supernatural and paranormal. The most important rule in hunting is know what your hunting.Nothing was worse than being unprepared to take down a creature. Majority of the time a mistake like that would end up in death or severely injury. "Well, this is it. It's both my office and my lab, so I have a pretty large space."
Chevonne waved him into the room first allowing him to check out her lab and computer set up. She had the best set up he had ever seen. Even the computer system in the U.S Marshal departments didn't have that tech suave behind them. "One side is my office, then I have my computer system setup along the back wall and then as you can see, several lab tables, counters and benches set up. I usually have various things in the work at any given time. I sort of have a talent for anything electronic or mechanical. So, we always have the best equipment out there. Take a look around if you want. Probably best you don't touch anything, some of them are still in testing phase."
"Yeah I wouldn't want to mess anything up, but this is an excellent set up you have for yourself. I am very impressed. I am not the best when it comes to technology. Now mechanical things I enjoy like my car. I love working on my car or just muscle cars in general." He spoke with a little enthusiasm behind his voice. Muscle cars reminded him of the good old days. The days before he ever knew about hunting. Now when working on his car, he uses it to clear his mind when he is stumped on any type of investigation. Adam stepped back giving Chevonne room to sit down and get comfortable in her office. After watching her finish the rest of the energy drink, he could understand why she was still awake. "I was just finishing up some research and some preliminary plans for a couple things I'm working on. If you have any questions or you need anything to get you set up, let me know and I'll get right on it."
"Well if you have a way of like copying journals or books. I can bring in my Grandfathers, Fathers, and both my uncles journals. We have a bunch of knowledge on the paranormal that has been passed down from many generations." He informed her about the long line of hunters that ran in the Gomez family. He was one of the last ones from his father's side of the family. He never got the chance to meet his mother or her side of the family. It didn't help that his father never talked to him about her. "So Chevonne, What are you working on now that has you up all through the night drinking energy drinks?" Adam asked with curiosity wanting to get to know Chevonne on a more personal level. Her technological support could easily make finding the paranormal signatures throughout the world. He didn't have the ability to use the Internet when he was brought up on hunting. Which only meant he had a lot of catching up to do with the new times.

She could tell he was trying hard to be nice and respectful to her. Making up for the first impression she got of him. She had to give him credit for that at least. She couldn't help the small satisfied smile that crossed her face when he mentioned he was impressed with her lab set up. It was something she was proud of. Even without her gift she would have loved working on computers and mechanical things. Tinkering, creating, building, taking apart, putting back together. She could do pretty much anything with mechanical items large and small. With her gift, she could do even more she inherently could learn how to operator machines. Not to mention anything computer related. The fact that she could use her talents to help people was why she had taken the job at Forsaken. She had learned about the paranormal early in life. Since she learned she was special, she had figured there had to be other special people out there too and what she discovered was more than she could have imagined. It was a good fit for her and she loved her job. She hoped that her new boss wasn't going to make things difficult for her. He was trying, so that was a good thing. "Well if you have a way of like copying journals or books. I can bring in my Grandfathers, Fathers, and both my uncles journals. We have a bunch of knowledge on the paranormal that has been passed down from many generations." Chevonne nodded, noting the fact that he came from a family of hunters in his background. That was good. At least he had experience, not that they would have hired a new head of the New York office that did have experience. She also knew that he had law enforcement in his background, another plus. There was more she new about him from the background check that was run on him, but she was used to being privy to sensitive information and knew when to keep her mouth shut. In a way, knowing some of his personal history made it easier to understand his earlier reaction when they met. "Yeah, we have scanners that can scan pretty much anything. You can either do it yourself or have one of the clerical staff do it. Depends on how you feel about letting other people touch the journals. I know sometimes those have sentimental value. So, if you want I can set up a scanner in your office. It's not hard to use." She gave him a smile as she typed in a few things on her keyboard. "So Chevonne, What are you working on now that has you up all through the night drinking energy drinks?" Turning her head over her shoulder, she shrugged and went back to tagging information she had been looking at for future reference. She kept typing and clicking on things with her mouse as she continued to speak with Adam. "Well, nothing all that spectacular at the moment. I just always have a few things that I'm tinkering with. Tonight I was actually just doing some research on some activity in upstate New York. I sometimes get carried away and so engrossed in the work that I lose track of time. I guess it's a good thing when you love your job." [/dropcap] OUTFIT: ClickehLyrics from the Song, Won't Get Fooled Again by The Who [/style]
