PERSONAL STYLE: Savannah is a fairly typical girl. She can wear just about anything. She's not overly girly-girl but she's not a hard-core tomboy either. She likes to wears jeans a lot, paired with either t-shirts or more girlish tops. She like all kinds of shoes anything from boots, high-heels to her comfy pair of favorite Chuck Taylor's. At her core she is a bit of a country girl. So, cowboy hats and cowboy boots are also a big part of her wardrobe.
Overall, comfortable and casual is what she would wear on a regular basis. She's the type that would pull her hair back into a pony-tail and put on a ball cap to run out to the grocery store. If the occasion calls for it, like going out to a club or out to dinner or something, she's more than happy to put on a dress or something appropriate.
Personality
GENERAL PERSONALITY: Savannah is an interesting person. She grew up happy and normal for the most part and you can still see some of that innocent girl in her. Savannah is a pretty outgoing and outspoken person, especially when she needs to be. She knows how to turn it on and off. She can also be quiet, reserved and even shy, depending on the situation. She does have a bit of a rebellious streak and can be a bit stubborn sometimes which can get her into trouble. Savannah does have a certain charm about her and most people like her and are drawn to her so most trouble she gets into she is able to smooth over.
Singing is a passion for her. She can also play the piano (mandatory childhood lessons) and the guitar. For the most part she does it for her own enjoyment and the entertainment of friends and family. Though, she has been known to let loose at karaoke or an open mic night.
For the most part she is a pretty sweet girl.

Powers, Abilities, Skills
Water Elemental Powers:
She was born into this power, through her family line.
She has the ability to call upon the energy as well as control water around her.
She can do this at will if she focuses and concentrates.
Basically she can make the water move, rain, etc.
She can also create a type of shield/barrier (mainly for protection) by manipulating the energy in the water.
The Elemental Powers are also tied to her emotions somewhat, so while she can call them at will, sometimes if she's in a highly emotional state (mainly fear or anger but it could also occur in an extremely elated state or from sadness as well) it's possible she could cause something to occur by accident.
Witch:
She's a natural witch where as she gets her powers from the earth and the energy around her (it's tied in with being an elemental, they kind of go hand in hand)
Not to mention the fact that she grew up in New Orleans and it's voodoo, hoodoo history, it was fairly natural for her to get involved with Witchcraft/Magic.
Knows about magical herbs and items to brew up potions, make hex bags and things like that. She can do spell casting and rituals and such. Mostly things for protection and locating things, stuff along those lines.
SKILLS:
- Cooking
- Writing
- Researching
LIMITS AND FLAWS:
As she is not a true Elemental she is not immortal and can't pass through to the spiritual plane. She has all the limits of a normal human as far as being injured or killed. She just has powers to help protect her.
History
Savannah was born on April 3, 1984 in New Orleans, Louisiana to a couple named Rachel and Michael Evans. Savannah is the youngest child and only daughter of Rachel and Michael. Growing up with two older brothers, James and Rick she learned how to be tough. Though her brothers were tough on her they were also her biggest protectors and they were always very close. Savannah’s childhood was pretty normal and happy. She loved having big brothers and always looked up to them. What she didn't know though, was that her parents had a secret. It wasn't that is was a bad secret, but they didn't want to tell Savannah until they felt she was old enough and ready to handle it. They tried to give Savannah as normal an upbringing as possible.
As she got older she noticed there was something different about her. That she could ‘do’ things. Sometimes weird things would happen with water, if she just thought about it. Like she could make a puddle accidentally splash someone. She didn’t tell her parents right away as she was afraid that something was wrong with her, that maybe she was crazy so she kept it hidden. The older she got though the more she realized there were other things she could do and her family seemed a bit different than others. When she was about 12 she finally decided to tell her mother about her being different. That was when her parents decided they needed to tell her what was going on.
What she learned was that she was what her mother called an "Elemental", she explained it was kind of like being a witch. She had certain powers and her mother had them too. It was something that was in their family lineage but only handed down through the female part of the line. Savannah came to know that she was a part of a long line of Water Elementals. She is a direct descendant of one of the founders of The Hermetic Order of the Golden Dawn, founded in 1888, the order incorporates water and the other Greek classical elements into its teachings.
Once she came to terms with the information, Savannah accepted it, even thought it was pretty cool, now that she knew she wasn't crazy or something. Her mother helped her and taught her how to focus and control her power. Her mother also had a book, that contain rituals and such, very much like a book of shadows or a grimoire. With the use of certain rituals there was more they could do with their powers. Normally, without a ritual, the powers are only affective within a certain range. The range depends on several things but as she gets more powerful her range expands. With the rituals, they can affect things at great distances. Also, there are certain rituals that they can perform to divine certain things. Almost like scrying, she can search for thing and see images in water. A misty cloudy type area appears in the water and within it she can see things. It's also connected to her ancestors so she can see things from the past sometimes. This is not something easy though like how she can control water at will. It takes a lot out of her to do that.
So...as Savannah grew up, her brothers went on to live their lives, make careers for themselves, start their families, etc.. As for her brothers, they kept in contact and see each other when they can but as in all families, they grew up and went on to follow their own paths. Savannah went on to college. She attended Louisiana State University (LSU), in Baton Rouge, Louisiana. Majoring in English and specializing in writing and journalism she graduated and got her degree with honors. While in college she actually started to write her first book. When she was still a senior at the University, she got her novel published. Upon her graduation she moved back home to New Orleans. She now writes a series of novels based on supernatural events that have actually occurred, but she passes them off as fiction. She writes under the Pen Name of Mystic Rayne.
RP Sample
Originally Savannah's element was air but I changed her because Kim is a witch with air element power. I didn't feel like changing my RP sample though.
The morning had certainly started out well. After breakfast they made the drive out to The Thompson Ranch. They ride out was nice, the day was beautiful out and Savannah reveled in it. Sitting next to Ash she sang along to the radio.
It didn't take long to complete the business transaction once they were there. Ash and Thompson had done a lot of business together. Savannah had just strapped herself into the seat of the truck when Ash's phone rang. It didn't seem like a big deal at first but, when Ash frowned at the number Savannah gave him a look and kept her attention on Ash's face.
Things only got worse from there. She could here the frantic yelling on the other side of the line. Unable to hear exactly what they were saying she could tell something was majorly wrong. Then she saw the look on Ash's face and the urgency in his own voice as he yelled back into the phone.
Savannah got the basics of the story when Ash explained it to Thompson before they roared out of their. Ash was in a state. At this point, all Savannah could do was try to get him to focus on getting them back to the ranch."It's OK, Ash. Don't worry about me. Just drive hon."
To say that the ride back was tense, was an understatement. It was amazing how a a great day could turn to complete shit at the blink of an eye, or in this case, the ring of a cell phone.
As they got closer, Savannah could see smoke billowing and drifting into the sky from the direction of the ranch. She took a deep breath and tried to pack down the panic that was rising up. This was bad, she could feel it. When they finally pulled up as close as they could without being in danger, the devastation was obvious. While Ash umped out of the truck and ran, Savannah got out slowly. Covering her mouth in astonishment and she could feel her eyes getting moist. She blinked to keep the tears back and tried to center herself.
Taking some more deep breaths she leaned back against the truck and watched as Ash didn't stop running like she had expected. What the hell was he doing? She thought as he kept running toward the barn. She felt frozen, rooted to the spot as she watched him disappear inside. Closing her eyes she could feel the fear rising up and with it the wind started to whip around her in a mini tornado. Her emotions were getting out of control, her power was emerging on it's own.
Another deep breath she calmed herself and began to speak quietly to herself."Hail, Watchtower, Guardian of the East. I ask to evoke the powerful Element of Air. Help me to have the strength and control for protection. I call upon you air. Come to me now."
Savannah felt the whirlwind around her stop and then felt the power within herself now. She was in control. Opening her eyes, there was still no sign of Ash. He was still inside trying to rescue his horse.
With slow even breathing Savannah opened her eyes and raised a hand, focusing on the energy and the power from the air around her she silently instructed it to surround the burning barn with a barrier. The barrier would keep the fire inside but allow people or animals to come out. As she held up the barrier she focused on trying to make it close in on the fire. Keeping it contained. She could hear the interior of the barn breaking a part.Quietly she said, "Please Ash, come out to me."
A few moments later she heard the sounds of running hoofs and the beautiful stallion with Ash astride it's back came racing out of the barn. They weren't safe yet though, Savannah held her breath, still holding the barrier in place when she saw the beam falling. With a quick flick of her wrist she sent a gust of wind toward the beam. She was able to push it enough so that it didn't fall on Ash full on, but was a glancing blow to his head. It was still enough to knock him unconscious and send him flying off the horse.
Now she couldn't help the tears that started to leak from the corners of her eyes, then finally turned to fulling streaming down her cheeks. She knew she had to continue to concentrate and focus on the barrier she was holding up. With Ash and all the horses out of the barn, she could turn her power on putting out the fire. While the barrier kept the fire held inside it's circle she whispered to herself, commands to the air around her. Suddenly, the air was being sucked out of the barn. Taking away the fire's fuel.
Slowly as more and more air emptied out of the barn like it was in a vacuum, the fire got smaller and smaller until it was finally out. There was nothing left of the barn except burning embers, and charred pieces of wood littering the place. The odd tool and farm implement burned beyond recognition laying in various places on the ground.
Exhausted by that much use of her power she closed her eyes again. Bowing her head slightly she spoke quietly again."Thank you air. I appreciate you and you are free to go. Thank you for giving me strength."
Savannah felt the surging power inside her dissipate and float away. She felt like she was ready to collapsed, but then she saw Ash laying on the ground. With the tears still wet on her face she forgot all about being tired. She ran to him. Kneeling on the ground next to him she took his hand in hers and with the other she touched his face gently. Now that she was more aware she could hear the sirens coming closer. She was blinking as the tears continued and she yelled out."Someone please make sure the paramedics get up here, fast."
Then she turned her full attention back to Ash. Stroking his face gently and squeezing his hand. She spoke softly to him. Murmuring calming words, telling him it was going to be all right. Then she made her voice a little stronger."Don't you dare leave me now Ash Jordan. I absolutely will never forgive you if you leave me alone now."
Chewing on her lip she stayed by his side. Watching his face, wishing the damn medical team would hurry up and get their asses up there.
